UK - Spain removed from travel corridors exemption list

If you arrive in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland from Spain on or after 26 July 2020 you will need to self-isolate.

• Spain no longer on travel corridor list, travellers arriving into England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland from Spain from midnight tonight will need to self-isolate
• people already in Spain can stay for the remainder of their holiday and will have to self-isolate upon return
• FCO now advising against all but essential travel to mainland Spain

These two schemes are meant to address the needs of different groups of cross-border travellers between both countries.

Australia - National Cabinet agreed to implement further caps on international arrivals from 13 July

In order to manage and maintain quarantine arrangements across the jurisdictions of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, National Cabinet agreed to implement further caps on international arrivals, and an extension of current international passenger flight restrictions into Victoria.

From Monday 13 July, the following will apply:

• Perth - a cap of 525 international arrivals per week will apply.
• Brisbane - an overall cap of 500 international arrivals per week will apply.
• Sydney - a cap of 450 international arrivals per day will continue, as announced on 4 July with a view to further reductions in subsequent weeks.

Flexibility remains within these caps to as much as possible minimise disruptions to returning Australian citizens and permanent residents.

UK - Outdoors performing arts, gyms, pools, beauty salons set to reopen from 11 - 13 July onwards

Outdoor pools can reopen to the public from 11 July followed by indoor gyms, pools and leisure centres on 25 July.

Outdoor performances with social distancing can resume from July 11.

Businesses including beauty salons, nail bars and tattoo studios can reopen safely from Monday 13 July.

Sweden - Extension of temporary entry ban to Sweden until 31 August 2020

To mitigate the effects of the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the outbreak, a temporary ban on entry to the EU via Sweden is in force. The Government decided to extend the entry ban until 31 August 2020. 

At the same time, the Government decided to ease the restrictions for more travellers.

Australia - NSW is temporarily closing its border to Victoria and the ACT is enforcing a 14-day quarantine

In line with advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, the Victorian Government has announced that metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire will return to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions from 11.59pm on Wednesday 8 July 2020.
