Canada - Government of Canada takes action to improve employer compliance and better protect temporary foreign workers

The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) plays an important role in Canada’s economy, allowing Canadian employers to hire foreign workers to fill jobs when qualified Canadians are not available. 

Ensuring the health and safety of these workers while they are in Canada is essential, and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) has been taking action to ensure broad compliance with the rules.
